About us
Our restaurant was opened for people who love good food and who care about what they eat.
When designing Winnica’s menu, we were inspired by the cooking traditions of different countries, especially the cuisine of the Mediterranean. We also take the “Slow Food” concept seriously, which is reflected in our search for local specialties and traditional recipes, not only from the Zielona Góra region, but also from more distant places.
Following this idea, we have beer from regional brewery in Witnica, Czech beer from the Primator brewery in Nachod, oscypek from Wojtek Komperda's mountain hostel.
We wanted the chef at Winnica to always be close to the person he cooks for, and always be available when needed.
This gave us the idea of an open kitchen in the lower-floor room, which creates a real home atmosphere, with all the sounds and aromas that accompany cooking. The restaurant pulsates with life, and guests can watch the cooks working and ask them to modify dishes according to individual preferences.
You can drop in here for a delicious breakfast, read the newspaper while having a cup of coffee, have a fast lunch during the day, or come for Sunday lunch and let your children play in a corner specially arranged for them.
The room upstairs is the best choice for more private meetings. Apart from a room for thirty people, we also have a small room where you can invite your important guests.
Our restaurant is located in an old tenement house, the former pre-war residence of a war veteran, in the oldest part of the city. Creating the décor of Winnica, we wanted to reproduce the atmosphere of an old Grünberg restaurant, with grapevine motives on acid-etched panes, with stained-glass windows, chess-board pattern of the parquet floor, and a metal porch whose design was adopted from one of the villas in Zielona Góra. The walls are decorated with pictures of Zielona Góra from the pre-war period, whose lost beauty people invariably miss.
You are welcome to visit Winnica. We’ll do our best to make you feel at home.
